Pangilinan hits at Pulido's impeachment case vs GMA

Senate Majority Leader Kiko Pangilinan on Monday dismissed insinuations that Senate must stop its hearings in aid of legislation on the controversial NBN ZTE deal after Atty. Roel Pulido filed an impeachment complaint in the House of Representatives last Friday.

"To stop the inquiry of the Senate, all they need to do is file a case at the House of Representatives, whether or not the complaint is true.  We will not allow to this kind of manipulation.  The Senate hearings must go on," he said in Filipino.

Opposition lawmakers believe the impeachment case filed by Pulido and endorsed by administration ally Rep. Edgar San Luis of Laguna is meant to insulate the President from a more serious impeachment complaint, as no two impeachment complaints may be heard within the same year.
