BAGUIO CITY – Police authorities found about 100 kilos of dynamite stocks that could blow up a shopping mall inside the compound of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) here yesterday morning.
The dynamite sticks, numbering at least 1,468, were kept inside four paper boxes marked “Magnum 365.”
Senior Superintendent Moises Guevarra, city police chief, said four other smaller boxes of blasting caps and four rolls of detonating cords manufactured by a certain Orica firm in Bulacan were seized.
Authorities found them inside a Toyota FX AUV van parked inside the Comelec compound along Governor Pack Road at around 11 a.m.
Police reportedly invited Dionisia Oya, assistant election officer 2, and Eugenio Diego for questioning.
Guevarra valued the dynamite sticks at about P128,000.
