COTABATO CITY – A grenade was found inside the house of a defeated vice mayoralty candidate here yesterday morning.
Cynthia Costales, who ran as an administration candidate, said Army bomb experts immediately defused the grenade.
“During the campaign period I received several death threats, but after the canvassing of votes, I just stayed home. I have no known enemies and so I don’t have bodyguards,” she said.
“It appears that it was only meant to scare me because its safety pin was still intact,” she said.
Costales’ husband, former city councilor Alexis Costales, was gunned down in their frontyard four years ago. – John Unson
