BALANGA CITY – A popular co-host of the noontime show “Eat Bulaga,” Dexter Dominguez, also known as Teri Onor, handily won in the vice mayoralty race in the Battan town of Abucay.
Teri Onor, a Lakas-CMD vice mayoralty bet, garnered 3,806 votes, winning by 907 votes over his rivals, former vice mayor Sabino Canare, former barangay chairman Rudy Valencia, and former municipal councilor Eliseo de Guzman.
The Eat Bulaga co-host earned the respect of his townmates when he laid down his programs of free livelihood training for mothers in the field of hairdressing and manicure under the sponsorship of Ricky Reyes.
Teri Onor, who belongs to the politically influential Dominguez clan of Barangay Mabatang, Abucay, vowed to upgrade the sports program for the youth through his connections with sports trainors and officials in Metro Manila. He plans to invite them to conduct regular sports clinics in the town.
About 1,000 gays reportedly campaigned for Onor and with the powerful Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) votes, his victory was ensured.
This is Onor’s first political bid to contribute to the socio-economic development of his fourth-class town, which has been supporting him since he joined show business.
