2 anti-communist leaders slain

Two leaders of anti-communist groups in Samar and Albay have been gunned down, the latter by his former comrades in the underground movement, police said.

Senior Superintendent Asdali Abah, Samar police director, said Agusto Daclitan, 55, provincial coordinator of the Alliance of Nationalism and Democracy, was shot dead with a caliber .45 automatic by two men who approached him in front of the provincial capitol last Wednesday night.

In Daraga, Albay, Jose Loreno, 55, a radio reporter in the early 90s who later joined the New People’s Army but later surrendered, was shot twice in the head by three suspected rebels in front of his store in Barangay Bagtang Thursday night.
