Suspect in killing of lotto winner’s hubby falls

Operatives of the Traffic Management Group (TMG) have re-arrested one of the suspects in the killing of the husband of a P19-million lotto prizewinner in Antipolo City three years ago.

Police said Noel Ginoso, 34, was arrested last Tuesday on the strength of an alias warrant of arrest for robbery with homicide and car theft.

Senior Inspector Rolando Lopez, of the TMG’s operation section, said Ginoso, along with nine other suspects, robbed and killed Arturo Eupeña, 58, husband of Leticia Eupeña, winner of the P19.6-million jackpot of the Superlotto draw on Oct. 12, 2002.

After killing Eupeña, Ginoso’s group fled with P200,000 and his brand new Toyota Grandia van.

Ginoso was first arrested and charged in court on Oct. 28, 2002, but managed to escape.

He was re-arrested after Eupeña’s wife informed the TMG about his whereabouts. He was collared in a billiard hall in Antipolo City.

Aside from Ginoso, the other suspects are Mayorico Guatno, the victim’s 50-year-old cousin; Lito Abarico, 43; Joselito Rose, 39; Luisito Candoy, 31; Aurelio Omega, 31; Eric Peñalosa, 24; Francisco Aregue, 26; Rolando Velasco, 36; and Renato Resanoda, 23.
