11 Bohol MCTCs have no judges

TAGBILARAN CITY — For some time now, 11 municipal circuit trial courts (MCTCs) in the province have had no judges.

This was revealed by lawyer Rodulfo Puagang, records section chief of the MCTC, who bewailed that there have been no applicants for these municipal courts.

The vacancies have been attributed to the low pay that judges are receiving. Despite the recent adjustment in judges’ salaries, most lawyers in the province prefer to practice in the city and shun municipal assignments.

According to Puagang, there are no judges in the MCTCs in Inabang, Buenavista, Talibon-Getafe, Ubay-President Garcia, Alicia-Mabini, Candijay-Anda-Guindulman-Duero, Balilihan-Sevilla, Carmen-Batuan, Sierra Bullones-Pilar, Catigbian-San Isidro-Sagbayan, and Trinidad-San Miguel-Bien Unido.
