Boholanons mark Garcia’s 109th birthday

TAGBILARAN CITY — Boholanons commemorated yesterday the 109th birth anniversary of the province’s most illustrious son, the late former President Carlos P. Garcia, with a wreath-laying at his monument at Plaza Rizal here and a memorial Mass.

The guest of honor in the commemorative program was Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano.

Gov. Erico Aumentado said Garcia, the architect of the "Filipino First" policy, will always be the greatest Boholano statesman and patriot and a "guiding light" to Boholanons of today and of future generations. — Peter Dejaresco
