Miranda named CV chairman of Kampi

SANTIAGO CITY — Isabela fourth district Rep. Anthony Miranda has scored another political victory when he was chosen as Cagayan Valley chairman of President Arroyo’s newly revived Kampi party, over other political bigwigs in the region.

Miranda, younger brother of former Santiago City mayor Jose Miranda, was favored by the Kampi national directorate, headed by Antipolo City Rep. Ronaldo Puno, over third district Rep. Faustino Dy III, Kampi provincial chairman, and Alicia Mayor Napoleon Dy.

The Dy brothers, younger siblings of former Isabela governor Faustino Dy Jr., were original Kampi affiliates, The STAR learned.

Concurrent with his designation as regional chairman, the 36-year-old Miranda was also appointed as Kampi spokesman.

The Kampi bloc in the House is comprised of 72 congressmen, Miranda said. — Lito Salatan
