Abducted Bulacan b’gay exec found dead

MALOLOS, Bulacan — A barangay chairman of San Jose del Monte City was found dead with several stab wounds in E. Rodriguez, Rizal yesterday morning, 11 days after six ski mask-wearing armed men seized him from his home, police said.

Superintendent Arnold Gun—nacao, intelligence and investigation chief of the Bulacan police, said the body of Lope Oliveros, chairman of Barangay San Isidro, was already in the early stage of decomposition when it was spotted in a grassy road in Barangay Macabud in E. Rodriguez town (formerly Mon—talban).

Oliveros had multiple stab wounds in the neck and back, and his feet was tied with a bra, Gunnacao said. He was wearing a yellow basketball uniform with the number "1" in front and "Oliveros" in the back, and yellow shorts.

Gunnacao said the barangay chairman had earned the ire of neighborhood toughies who salvaged scrap materials from a condemned building in the barangay.

Last Nov. 6, he said Oliveros received death threats over his alleged meddling in the salvaging of scrap materials.

Two suspects in Oliveros’ abduction have been arrested. They were identified as Carion Sayritan, who was nabbed a few days after the kidnapping, and Alberto Perez, who fell two days ago and is now in the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group. Charges have been filed against them. — With Ric Sapnu
