PACER takes over Antipolo kidnap case

ANTIPOLO CITY — The Police Anti-Crime Emergency Response (PACER) in Camp Crame has taken over the investigation into the kidnapping last Saturday by seven armed men of Danny Tiu, a shoe factory owner in this city.

Senior Superintendent Alan Purisima, PACER head, admitted to The STAR they are investigating Tiu’s case but he refused to answer questions from this reporter for fear of jeopardizing the safety of the kidnap victim. "Just have patience. I’ll call you once we attain any positive developments on the case," Purisima said.

Tiu was kidnapped by seven armed men in front their house at Ilang Ilang St., La Unica Hija, Barangay Mayamot at 4:45 p.m. Saturday. One of the suspects approached caretaker Leo Tuanti, 44, and asked him of Tiu’s whereabouts. Before Tuanti could answer, the suspect took out his handgun and dragged the caretaker inside the house where Tiu was. — Non Alquitran
