Senior Superintendent Felizardo Serapio Jr., Bulacan police director told reporters that Rodolfo Maganto, younger brother of the police official was arrested in a buy-bust operation inside the St. Marys Hospital in the towns poblacion. Caught in his possession were 51 grams of metamphetamine hydrochloride, also known as shabu.
Chief Superintendent Vidal Querol, Central Luzon police director told reporters that the arrest of Maganto shows that the PNP is doing a serious campaign against illegal drugs.
"Ipinakita ng pangyayaring ito na ang pulisya ay walang kinikilingan, walang itinatangi. Kung sino man ang nagkasala sa batas ay dapat humarap sa batas (This proves that nobody is above the law as shown by the police in this case. Whoever commits crime, he must face the consequences)," Querol said.
Additionally, police have seized 150 half-grown marijuana plants at a plantation in San Ildefonso town here.
Police said the marijuana plants, with an estimated street value of P75,000 were reportedly owned by brothers Mamang and Sonny Culala of Barangay Pulong Tamo in this town.
