Another eaglet saved

DAVAO CITY — Thanks to the growing public awareness of the endangered Philippine eagle, an American family has turned over a two-month-old eaglet, which he got from an uplander who had tried to sell it in Sarangani.

According to the Philippine Eagle Foundation here, the uplander had taken the eaglet from its nest in the forest of Montoclot, Upo Maitum, Sarangani and was about to sell it when James Strong retrieved it.

Strong then informed his brother Sam who, in turn, contacted the foundation. The eaglet, weighing about 3.3 kilograms, was turned over last Sunday. Edith Regalado
