4 Lucena lawmen killed in ambush

Four members of the Traffic Management Group based at Camp Guillermo Nakar in Lucena City, Quezon were killed in an ambush by unidentified jeepney-riding men yesterday afternoon, police said.

Reports reaching Camp Crame identified the fatalities as SPO3 Victor Escoltura, SPO2 Ruben Sigujit, PO3 Arnulfo Melegrito and PO2 Roderick Baldeser.

The four policemen were reportedly conducting surveillance in Barangay Dumuit in Lucena City when they were fired upon at about 5 p.m. — Jaime Laude
