Chief Inspector Nilo Berdin Jr., San Pedro police chief, identified the victim as Teddy Javillo, 52, a resident of Pacita Complex in this town.
Berdin suspected that Javillo was killed between 7 and 9 p.m. Monday somewhere in the town by at least three persons who then placed him at the back seat of his car with face leaning on the side door and a plastic pail serving as a catch basin for his blood.
The still unidentified suspects later abandoned the victims car, with licensed plate number PBA-181, after dumping the victims body inside the car trunk, Berdin said.
The victims body was discovered when barangay police saw blood dripping from the trunk of the car.
The victims head was apparently hit with a blunt instrument that caused the swelling of his face.
Police investigators are looking at the possibility that those who owe the victim money may have a hand in the killing. They are also investigating the possibility that the suspects could be any of the people whom the victim charged in court for estafa cases.
Found in the car were a bloodied towel and rags, a pail soaked in blood, and several sets of finger prints.
The victims body was taken at the Escudero Funeral Parlor in this town for autopsy.
