Last Tuesday, Duterte invited the councilors to a luncheon at a hotel here, and the meeting ended well for both parties.
Councilor Liborio Lumain said the mayor enlisted their support for the anti-smoking ordinance and the purchase of a CT scan and dialysis machine for the Davao Medical Center.
In return, Duterte finally agreed to the purchase of additional vehicles for the councilors. He earlier had blocked this, citing the need to prioritize the acquisition of more patrol cars for the city police.
Lumain said at least four to five councilors will be given new service vehicles. Edith Regalado
