Police chief fires gun after fight with wife

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — A town chief is in hot water after he allegedly fired his service firearm indiscriminately after a quarrel with his policewoman-wife.

Police records at the Pangasinan police headquarters here showed that Inspector Joel Quintero, police chief of Sto. Tomas town this province, fired indiscriminately his 9 mm service pistol while on board a Toyota Revo police service vehicle along Barangay Biec, Binmaley about 9 p.m. on Aug. 29.

Quintero allegedly had a domestic quarrel earlier with his wife, Senior Inspector Cristina Quintero, who works as a nurse at the provincial police command in this town.

Supt. Agrimero Cruz, provincial intelligence officer, told The STAR that they will investigate the case.

Sto. Tomas Mayor Antonio Villar Jr. vowed to take proper action against his police chief.

"A woman should be loved, not hurt. Only a gay fights with a woman," Villar said when asked by reporters to comment on Quintero’s case. Eva de Leon
