An FX passenger, who was harassing and shouting invectives at co-passengers and the driver escaped detention for malicious mischief at the Bacoor police station yesterday at around 1 a.m. because of this sense of value by the policeman.
Night-duty investigator Sgt. Jay Caparas was visibly irked at being roused from his sleep for what he called a petty matter and referred the case to the nearest barangay and didnt bother to get the statements of the complainants.
The desk officer, SPO4 Antonio del Rosario, was also caught sleeping under the table by the complainants.
The suspect, Chito Roa, who was believed to be drunk, was shouting all the time as he could not walk straight, bragged of his connections all the more when he noticed that Caparas did not entertain the complainants.
The complainants later learned that the suspect should have been slapped with a 12-hour detention for charges of malicious mischief had Investigator Caparas done his job.
The chief of Bacoor police station, Superintendent Maximo Dilla advised the complainants to file a complaint against the erring policemen and promised to pursue the charges against Roa. Wilfredo Suarez
