Taguig’s most wanted drug trafficker falls

MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested Taguig City’s third most wanted drug trafficker on Thursday night.

Alfonso Dacquel, 31, was nabbed along with his wife, Siena Joyce, 31, both of Barangay Central Signal Village.

Police said Dacquel was caught shortly after he handed over a plastic sachet of shabu to a police officer who posed as a buyer at around 8:30 p.m.

Anti-narcotics officers recovered five more packets of shabu, with a street value of P150,000, from Dacquel. Seized from his wife were the two marked P1,000 bills used in the sting.

They are being held at the Taguig police headquarters as charges of drug possession and trafficking are readied against them.

Earlier, police arrested Michael Benito Tan, the city’s top illegal drug peddler, in a sting along MLQ street in Barangay Bagumbayan.

Taguig’s intensified campaign against the illegal drug trade resulted in the arrest of five other wanted drug pushers identified as Richard Silvestre, Isidro Llagas, Mardie Talampas, Jackie Abone and Rawie Castro.

Mayor Lani Cayetano lauded the local police for winning the war against drugs.
