MANILA, Philippines - A woman was arrested at a hotel along Padre Faura street in Manila for allegedly pimping five girls Thursday night.
Marissa Roa was caught in a sting conducted by the Manila Police District (MPD).
Roa went to Manila from Bulacan with her children – age four and one – and her 14-year-old niece in hopes she would earn around P10,000 from each of the five girls, police said.
Superintendent Dennis Wagas, chief of MPD’s legal division, said the social workers took custody of Roa’s children.
Wagas, who also heads MPD’s anti-human trafficking division, said the woman will be charged with qualified human trafficking – a non-bailable offense – before the Manila prosecutor’s office.
