MANILA, Philippines - The personal driver and messenger of Janet Lim-Napoles, alleged brains of the pork barrel scam, has sought relief from the Supreme Court (SC) on the cases filed against him before the Sandiganbayan.
John Raymond de Asis asked the SC to stop his indictment for malversation and graft.
He urged the high court to nullify the ombudsman’s resolutions dated Sept. 26, 2014 and Nov. 26, 2014, respectively, which approved the charges.
The anti-graft body found probable cause to indict him for plunder and graft along with former Masbate congresswoman Rizalina Seachon Lanete.
The case stemmed from the alleged anomalous use of Lanete’s Priority Development Assistance Fund worth P112.29 million from 2007 to 2009.
