MANILA, Philippines - For catching the 10 most wanted persons in the city, Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman yesterday commended the city’s police chief and 10 of his men.
The Marikina City police is the only police station in Metro Manila to arrest all 10 of the most wanted criminals or suspected criminals in its area of jurisdiction last year.
Earlier, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Carmelo Valmoria directed his five district directors and 38 station commanders to list the top 10 most wanted persons in their areas and have them accounted for in a bid to bring down crime rates.
The Marikina police’s list included Nestor Cinco, who is facing murder charges; Antonio Andrada, Joel Dino, Benjamin Lim, Restituto Rosal, Anthony Bandoles and Jonas Agustia, robbery; Michael Bautista, robbery and car theft; Ibrahim Herez, motorcycle theft; and Rex Antonio, robbery and illegal possession of firearms.
De Guzman handed out certificates of commendation to city police chief Senior Superintendent Vincent Calanoga and Senior Inspector Glenn Aculana, Inspector Carlos Garcia, SPO4 Ramiel Soriano, SPO4 Greco Gonzales, SPO2 Jose Castelo Jr., SPO2 Joey Gaygay, SPO1 Cesar Abonita, PO3 Orlando Salen, PO3 Reynaldo Villareal and PO2 Jayson Villanueva, all from the police force’s intelligence division.
