MANILA, Philippines - A 40-year-old supervisor of the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital police was shot dead on Taft Avenue in Manila yesterday morning.
Felipe delos Reyes Jr. was about to attend their family reunion in Bulacan province when an unidentified assailant shot him in the head.
“Now the reunion would turn into a burial instead,” a brother of Delos Reyes told Manila Police District homicide section.
Delos Reyes, carrying a backpack, was on his way home from work and about to board a train at the Light Railway Transit’s Pedro Gil station to fetch his two daughters when he was attacked at around 6:30 a.m. He died at the scene.
Witnesses said the assailant, who fled after the shooting, was about 5’4” in height and of medium build. He was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and a baseball cap.
