MANILA, Philippines - An unidentified man who pretended to be a taxi driver robbed his passenger and a traffic enforcer in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
Police officers said Charlotte Turingan was in a white A. Villegas taxi (UWB-491) when the driver, at gunpoint, took her iPhone, wallet with P2,500 cash and personal belongings along the EDSA-Kamuning flyover at past 4 a.m.
As the taxi driver was about to escape, the vehicle ran out of gas and stopped at the flyover.
Metro Manila Development Authority traffic enforcer Isaac Mariano, who was riding his black Suzuki Thunder motorcycle, then approached the taxi to check on it.
However, the driver pointed the gun at Mariano and took the enforcer’s motorcycle and two-way radio.
