MANILA, Philippines - A 42-year-old construction firm executive was killed in an ambush in Quezon City Thursday night.
Menchu Gochingco, human resources manager of Monolith Construction, was driving her black Toyota Vios (PQW-120) on Panay Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. when one of two men riding a motorcycle got off, walked to the driver’s side of Gochingco’s car and shot her several times.
A witness said the assailant tried to peep through the car’s heavily tinted windows to make sure Gochingco was dead before fleeing.
Investigators recovered six cartridges from a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene. A police official said Gochingco’s killing may be work-related.
