MM, Baguio temperatures dip further

MANILA, Philippines - The state weather bureau recorded yesterday the coldest temperatures in Metro Manila and Baguio City since the start of the northeast monsoon or amihan season at 19.7 and 12.4 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in Metro Manila the coldest temperature was recorded at the Science Garden in Quezon City at 6 a.m.

While in Baguio City, temperature dipped to 12.4 degrees Celsius at 5:05 a.m.

PAGASA declared the onset of the northeast monsoon last month. The northeast monsoon brings dry and cool air in the Philippines from November to February.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said generally good weather is expected to affect the country this weekend.

It said a low-pressure area was spotted over the Pacific Ocean yesterday but it was still far to affect any part of the country.
