MANILA, Philippines - Two suspects, one of them a teenager, yielded at least a kilo of shabu worth P4 million in a sting in La Loma, Quezon City yesterday morning.

Alimar Sulaiman, 26, and his 16-year-old companion were arrested in Barangay Salvacion at around 7 a.m., Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao said.

Pagdilao said 14 more packs of shabu were recovered in the suspects’ red Toyota Altis with conduction sticker YD-1179. The car, driven by Sulaiman, had an Army sticker on its temporary plate.

A team from the QCPD’s anti-drugs unit, led by Senior Inspector Roberto Razon, managed to close a drug deal with the suspects.

The suspects agreed to peddle 100 grams of shabu at a discounted price of P200,000, Razon told The STAR.

He said yesterday’s sting was a follow-up to the arrest of Police Officer 1 Brazil Mujawarin, a member of the Rodriguez, Rizal police station, and Bonifacio Mundalo, 21, outside a convenience store in Barangay North Fairview Monday.

Mujawarin is believed to be a distributor of illegal drugs in Fairview, police said.

During interrogation, the suspects allegedly pointed to Sulaiman as the source of the contraband.

Pagdilao said the illegal drugs seized from Sulaiman may have been sourced from Quiapo where the suspect lives.

The QCPD has stepped up its campaign against illegal drugs since Pagdilao assumed office last month.
