Marikina’s ‘shabu queen’ falls

MANILA, Philippines - A woman, dubbed Marikina’s “shabu queen” by the city police, was arrested in a drug sting Thursday and yielded at least 100 grams of shabu with a street value of P.6 million.

Sheila Canlas is reportedly responsible for the proliferation of illegal drugs in Barangay Sto. Niño, according to Inspector Jerry Flores, who heads the city police’s anti-drug unit.

She was arrested at Pitong Gatang compound on Guerilla street in the same barangay at around 4 p.m. Thursday after she sold P6,000 worth of shabu and received marked money from an undercover police officer, Flores said.

Aside from Canlas, three other alleged drug pushers – Gaudioso Agad Jr.; Andy Cruz, 35; and Riyah Penaber, 31– were arrested in separate operations in Marikina Thursday.

Canlas and the three other suspects chose to remain silent on the charges against them, Flores said.
