MANILA, Philippines - A teenage girl was found dead, hanging from a beam on the second floor of her family’s Quezon City house while her parents were away for an outing on Good Friday.
The body of Princess Mahusay, 18, was found by her boyfriend, Emmar Palma, 25, said Police Officer 2 Rhic Pittong.
Palma told police he went to Mahusay’s house to visit her after a lover’s spat at past 1 p.m. However, his knocks at the door went unheeded, prompting him to open the door, which was unlocked.
He searched the house and was shocked to find Mahusay hanging from a wooden beam at the second floor of the house.
Palma sought help from a neighbor in cutting down the girl, who had a blanket looped around her neck.
Pittong said the girl’s family left earlier that day for a family outing in Zambales. The girl was left alone in the house.
Relatives told police the girl was reportedly scolded by her parents for still unknown reasons before the suicide.
