MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Cathedral is scheduled to reopen on April 9 in time for Holy Week.
Henrietta de Villa, Manila Cathedral Basilica Foundation board of trustees vice chairperson, told the Church-run Radio Veritas that the cathedral will open after it was closed for renovation in 2012, when its structural integrity came under question.
Palm Sunday, the start of the Holy Week, falls on April 13 this year.
The Manila Cathedral was built in 1581.
