MANILA, Philippines - Two Caloocan City policemen were ordered dismissed and charged yesterday after they were reportedly caught having a drug session Thursday with the main suspect in the killing of a fashion designer.
Police Officer 1 Ryan Tabudlong, who is under suspension for a drug-related case, and PO1 Danbeth Geronga were charged with violating the anti-drug law and obstruction of justice, Northern Police District (NPD) director Chief Superintendent director Chief Superintendent Edgar Layon said.
The two lawmen were allegedly in the middle of a drug session with Rogelio Aquiat when Makati City police raided Aquiat’s house in Camarin, Caloocan.
Aquiat was arrested after a bank surveillance video showed him and a certain Adjang withdrawing money using the automated teller machine card of designer Kenneth Chua, who was stabbed dead in his workshop earlier this week.
Aquiat told police Chua was killed because he fought back.
“I have already coordinated with district director of the Southern Police District to file cases against these policemen. On our part, I have directed the chief of police of Caloocan to also conduct their own investigation on the administrative cases so that if they are found guilty we will push for their dismissal,†Layon told The STAR.
