MANILA, Philippines - Several roads in Manila will be closed to traffic today for the Tri Manila 2014 triathlon, its organizers said yesterday.
The roads that will be closed starting from 2 a.m. today are Roxas Boulevard from Gil Puyat Avenue to Katigbak Drive; Bonifacio Drive’s southbound lane, from Anda Circle to Katigbak Drive; T.M. Kalaw from Ma. Orosa street to Roxas Boulevard; Ma. Orosa’s southbound lane, from P. Burgos street to T.M. Kalaw; P. Burgos’ eastbound lane, from Ma. Orosa to Roxas Boulevard; Quirino Avenue from Taft Avenue to Roxas Boulevard; and P. Ocampo street from Taft Avenue to Roxas Boulevard.
Mayor Joseph Estrada said the triathlon was an event of the national government. “The city government has nothing to do with it. I was not invited to the event,†he said.
