MANILA, Philippines - The camp of Deniece Cornejo on Tuesday asked the Department of Justice (DOJ) to postpone the hearing scheduled tomorrow in connection with the serious illegal detention case filed by actor Vhong Navarro against the model.
In a 20-page petition, Cornejo’s lawyer Howard Calleja informed the DOJ that a Taguig court set Feb. 14 as the hearing date for the temporary protection order his client filed against Navarro.
Navarro’s camp, however, slammed Calleja’s action as a dilatory tactic, saying he knew before hand that the DOJ hearing on the case that Navarro lodged against Cornejo and businessman Cedric Lee was set on Friday.
Calleja filed the motion with the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69 on Feb. 4, a day after the DOJ panel scheduled the hearing on Navarro’s case.
