MANILA, Philippines - A 32-year-old man killed his father and wounded his mother and younger brother in Navotas City Sunday night.
Resty Minerales had gone to a relative’s house at around 6 p.m. and had some drinks. He returned home at past 10 p.m. and had dinner as his mother did some chores in the kitchen, according to a police report.
After finishing his dinner, Minerales reportedly took out a knife and a bolo and stabbed his mother, Pilar, 57, in the right arm.
His father Valentino Sr., 62, and younger brother Valentino Jr., 27, came to Pilar’s aid but Minerales hacked them repeatedly.
Minerales then fled, bringing his weapons with him, said Navotas police chief Senior Superintendent Conrado Gongon Jr.
The victims were taken to the Tondo Medical Center, where Valentino Sr. died around seven hours later.
Investigators have yet to determine the motive for the attack.
