MANILA, Philippines - Employers can now register their kasambahay for government benefits, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said yesterday.
DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said employers can register their domestic workers with either the Pag-IBIG Fund, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth); and Social Security System (SSS) now that the Unified Registration System (URS) is in place.
She said the employer and kasambahay just need to fill up three forms – household employer unified registration form, kasambahay unified registration form and the household employment unified report form.
“The unified forms consolidate all the personal information of the registrants that are common and pertinent to the said agencies and are available for free at all branches or service offices of the said agencies. The forms can also be downloaded from their respective websites,†Baldoz said.
Baldoz, however, stressed that the three agencies shall continue to maintain their respective ID numbering system – the employer and the kasambahay will be issued three different ID numbers until such time that a common ID issuance system is developed and adopted.
Republic Act 10361, which took effect in June, requires employers to register their kasambahay so they can receive government benefits and provide them with 13th-month pay.
