MANILA, Philippines - An executive of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) lost around P1 million in cash and valuables to burglars who broke into her house in Quezon City yesterday.
The suspects hogtied the sons of BIR West Pasig regional director Emilia Combes during the robbery at Filinvest 2 in Barangay Batasan Hills, said Inspector Alan dela Cruz, head of the theft and robbery investigation section of the Quezon City Police District.
Combes told police that the suspects took two portable safety vaults containing jewelry and cash, electronic gadgets and some appliances.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
The BIR official’s sons told police that at least five men barged into their house at past 11 a.m.
The suspects rounded up and hogtied the two sons of Combes, her nephew and their helper before ransacking the house.
Police said the suspects took the family’s black Mazda VT50 pick-up with license plate TAI-648 where they loaded their loot.
The suspects abandoned the vehicle along San Mateo Road in Barangay Batasan Hills.
