MANILA, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) anti-fraud and action division is hunting down a woman reportedly pretending to be an agent of Cohen’s Lifestyle Center Philippines.
Rowena San Juan Sta. Ana of Pandi, Bulacan is accused of selling fake Cohen Lifestyle eating plans to unsuspecting clients for P15,000, the NBI said yesterday.
The NBI said that Cohen Lifestyle, which holds offices in Bonifacio Global City and Cebu, has not assigned any individual to represent the company to sell its eating programs.
“Sta. Ana’s lack of qualifications and technical understanding put her clients’ health at risk as the program is scientifically formulated based on a person’s blood test results, †the company’s complaint said.
The Cohen Lifestyle program utilizes an individualized approach to weight loss and considers natural healthy food as medicine, which must be taken in precise dosages.
“As such, it is dangerous for individuals to undergo a program that is not based on their own blood profile,†the center said.
Sta. Ana is facing charges of estafa and unfair competition under the Intellectual Property Code, the NBI said.
