MANILA, Philippines - A 10-wheeler dump truck stolen earlier this month was recovered in a compound in Quezon City and in Montalban, Rizal, but instead of a whole vehicle, policemen hauled loads of dismembered spare parts.
Roderick Igna, Armur Dumandan, Anthony Lazardo and Joel Cruz were arrested while a fifth man remains at large, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano said.
Two of the suspects reportedly dismantled the truck while the three others peddled the spare parts.
Superintendent Eleazar Matta, commander of the QCPD Station 6, said the parts belonged to a 10-wheeler dump truck owned by Expedition Construction Services.
“It took an entire flood truck to haul the loads of dismembered parts,†Matta said in an interview.
Matta said the truck was reportedly stolen while parked in Barangay Payatas in Bulacan on Aug. 16. An informant went to the police, claiming the men were peddling spare parts kept in a compound in Payatas, Quezon City. A follow-up operation was launched in Rizal, where the other parts were recovered.
