MANILA, Philippines - A man who had reportedly been abusing his daughter for the past five years was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation in Pangasinan early this week, NBI director Nonnatus Caesar Rojas said yesterday.
The last attack was on May 6, when the man allegedly raped the girl, 15, as her mother was preparing breakfast in the kitchen, Rojas said.
Upon learning of the abuse, the mother – on the pretext of visiting a relative in a neighboring barangay – accompanied her daughter to the NBI office in Dagupan.
NBI records show that the man is also accused of flashing a girl in his hometown of Gubat, Sorsogon.
He was referred for inquest before the provincial prosecutor’s office in San Carlos City on charges of violating the anti-child abuse law.
