MANILA, Philippines - Two Chinese and a Filipino were arrested in a drug bust in Pasay City involving a kilo of shabu.
Li Meimei, 41; Romeo Ong, 49; and Esmeraldo Trinidad, 54, were nabbed by members of the Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Force when they allegedly handed over the shabu, which has a street value of P5 million, at a fastfood restaurant at the Blue Wave Metropolitan Park, according to AIDSOTF chief Senior Superintendent Napoleon Taas.
AIDSOTF police officers also confiscated four cell phones, a red Honda Civic (ZDW-584), a silver Toyota Altis (UEO-196), and P2.2 million marked money from the suspects, who were selling the shabu for that amount.
Superintendent Ismael Fajardo said the trio is believed behind the proliferation of shabu in southern Metro Manila. – Non Alquitran, Cecille Suerte Felipe
