MANILA, Philippines - A 22-year-old woman attacked a taxi driver and a barangay tanod after her partner failed to meet up with her at a motel in Pasay City yesterday morning.
The woman, a college student, is facing charges of physical injury, malicious mischief and alarm and scandal for attacking Celso delos Santos, Chief Inspector Joey Goforth said.
According to Delos Santos, motel employees flagged him down at around 6 a.m. to ferry a woman who was not allowed to check in after her partner failed to arrive. He said that as he drove away from the motel, the woman began berating him and smashed the taximeter and rearview mirror.
He said he drove back to the motel to seek help as the woman started punching him. Barangay watchmen arrived and tried to subdue the woman.
“She was very strong. She kicked one of our companions before we could subdue her,†watchman Willie Sandoval told The STAR.
The watchmen brought her to the police station, where she was placed in a detention cell for women. She claimed she had gone barhopping and cannot remember what happened.
