MANILA, Philippines - Three warships from Thailand docked at the Manila South Harbor yesterday for a five-day goodwill visit.
Lieutenant Commander Gregory Gerald Fabic, Navy spokesman, said the arrival of Royal Thai Navy warships – Frigates HMTS Chaophraya, HMTS Bangpakong and offshore patrol vessel HMTS Pattani – will further boost long-time military relations between the Philippines and Thailand.
The Thai warships with 759 officers, naval cadets, enlisted personnel and non-military rank personnel on board are under the command of Rear Admiral Sucheep Whoungmaitree, commander of the Royal Thailand Naval Cadet Training Unit.
The foreign vessels will be in the country until Feb. 19.
Canadian warship Regina also docked at Manila’s South Harbor Tuesday for a goodwill visit.
