MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has reshuffled 19 of its top officials in a bid to improve the agency’s collection.
In an order dated Jan. 10, BOC Commissioner Rufino Biazon said the revamp aims to place the right person in the right position. “This order shall take effect immediately and shall last until revoked,†he said.
Among those affected in the shakeup were X-ray inspection project chief Lourdes Mangaoang, who was transferred to the Port of Cagayan de Oro. Acting Port of Subic district collector Carmelita Talusan replaced Mangaoang.
Biazon named Roberto Sacramento, acting deputy collector at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, as officer-in-charge of the Port of Zamboanga and Adelina Molina to the Port of Subic.
Port of Clark district collector Edward Dela Cuesta traded places with Ronnie Silvestre of the Port of Cebu.
From acting chief of the Intelligence Group’s Risk Management Office, Filemon Mendoza Jr. was reassigned as chief of the Legal Service’s Ruling and Research Division. Mary Grace Malabed, from being the acting RRD chief, was made the division’s assistant chief.
