MANILA, Philippines - A businessman who placed P8,000 worth of “lucky pick” bets for the 6/42 mega lotto’s Dec. 27 draw claimed its P6.9 million prize last week, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said yesterday.
“I have received much blessings from Him. It’s about time to help the needy,” said the 78-year-old businessman, described by the PCSO as a father of five professionals, when he claimed his prize.
With the number of lucky pick bets he placed, he hit the winning combination, 11-27-30-39-05-37.
The businessman, who has been a lotto bettor since 1995, plans to finance the education of his nephews and build houses for his relatives, said PCSO media officer Joseph Muego. He also treated their neighbors to a meal.
“The winner (said) God is very kind to him and to his family. His five children are all professionals and they are living in the United States,” Muego said.
