MANILA, Philippines - A 60-year-old man allegedly shot dead his 37-year-old wife in Malabon City Saturday after accusing her of having an affair with a younger man.
Chief Inspector Carlos Dilag said Alejo Nabablit fled the house he shared with his wife, Jocebel, in Barangay Tonsuya after allegedly killing her.
The couple’s neighbors told investigators they heard Jocebel and Alejo having a heated argument at around 1 p.m. as Alejo confronted his wife for allegedly having an affair with a younger man.
During the confrontation, they heard a gunshot and saw Alejo running out of the house with a bloodstained shirt, Dilag said.
The neighbors brought Jocebel to the Tondo Medical Center, where she died while being treated for a bullet wound in the abdomen at past 2 p.m.
Jocebel’s body was brought to the Nate funeral homes for autopsy but as of 2 p.m. yesterday none of her relatives have been to the funeral parlor.
Police officers have launched a manhunt for Alejo, Dilag said.
