MANILA, Philippines - The Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 will have shorter operating hours on Dec. 24 and 31, an official of the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said yesterday.
LRTA officer-in-charge Emerson Benitez said that the two rail lines will close earlier than the regular schedule due to the expected decline in the number of commuters on these days.
“We also want our station and security personnel to go home early to celebrate Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve with their families,” Benitez added.
On Dec. 24, the last train will leave the Baclaran and Roosevelt stations of LRT Line 1 and the Santolan and Recto stations of LRT Line 2 at 8 p.m.
On Dec. 31, the last train will depart the Baclaran and Roosevelt stations of LRT Line 1 and at Line 2’s Santolan and Recto stations at 7 p.m.
