MANILA, Philippines - Former President Joseph Estrada said yesterday that the tandem of Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and actor Cesar Montano is not a threat to his mayoralty bid in next year’s elections.
In a telephone interview with The STAR, Estrada said Montano has been a loser twice – first when he ran as governor in Bohol and when he ran as senator in the last May 2010 polls.
“He (Montano) lost in his home province (in Bohol). What more in Manila?” Estrada said.
The former leader is confident that Lim will not win against him regardless of who will be his running mate.
Estrada said 28 of the 36 incumbent city councilors will be running under his ticket next year.
