MANILA, Philippines - The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has ordered the recall of a cough syrup from the market to prevent possible health risk to consumers.
FDA officer-in-charge Nicolas Lutero said Robitussin DM products were ordered removed from the shelves as of yesterday.
Lutero said that pharmaceutical company Pfizer voluntarily recalled its products due to error in labeling.
“The products were found to have discrepancies on both primary label and cartoon regarding dosage instructions,” Lutero said.
“So the company voluntarily discontinued its distribution to prevent possible health risk to the public,” he added.
