MANILA, Philippines - A woman who was reportedly a police informant was shot dead in a coastal shantytown in Navotas City Wednesday night.
Joan Amora was shot along Tulay (Bridge) 14, one of 15 bridges winding around and through a community of informal settlers in Barangay Daanghari. Her body, which bore gunshot wounds in the head and torso, was fished out of the water by tricycle driver Frederick Navarro.
Her killer, believed to have used an improvised shotgun, remains unidentified.
Police Officer 2 Philip Edgar Valera said Amora was allegedly known in the area as a small-time drug pusher and investigators speculated she might have been killed due to a conflict with her associates.
