MANILA, Philippines - A construction worker reportedly stabbed dead his drinking buddy when he lost a friendly fistfight to the victim in Caloocan City before dawn yesterday.
Rodney Cervantes, 30, and Ryan Soliven started drinking Friday in front of Cervantes’ house. They continued until the wee hours of the morning yesterday, and were heard having a heated argument at around 2 a.m.
The two men, both construction workers, decided to settle the disagreement with a fistfight but when Soliven, 25, was losing, he pulled out a knife and stabbed Cervantes several times.
The victim died on the spot from stab wounds in the chest and stomach, while Soliven fled, bringing his knife.
